The Bermuda Monetary Authority confirmed the registration of four insurers in January.

The BMA registered two Class 1 insurers — HFCI Ltd and Light Speed Insurance Corporation Ltd — along with Berking Re Limited in Class 3A, and Sailfish Re Ltd in the unrestricted SPI category.

Four insurance applications were reviewed in January by the Insurance Assessment and Licensing Committee.

Three were approved by the IALC, and one was deferred.

The BMA noted that the registration/licensing of approved insurance entities is issued after the IALC application process and may be confirmed in future periods.
