Global reinsurer Ariel Re today announced two promotions in its property underwriting team.

Sarah Morgan will become head of property, effective April 1. Ms Morgan, has been in the property underwriting team since 2006, and has developed strong broker and client relationships across the market.

Ms Morgan said: “I am proud to step into this role and look forward to working closely with our brokers and clients as we continue to grow the portfolio in a thoughtful and sustainable way.”

Ms Morgan will replace Mike Cornish who will continue with Ariel Re in a new role, supporting strategy, new product development and special projects.

The company also announced that Reed Gaglio, who joined Ariel Re in 2005, has been appointed head of E&S property reinsurance, effective April 1. In this role, Mr Gaglio leads the next phase of business development “reflecting the increasing strategic importance of this class”, Ariel Re said.
