All things bright and beautiful
Although we don't exprience fall foiliage and haven't seen huge temperature drops, members of Christ Church in Warwick are recognising that we are now in the Autumn season by hosting special harvest celebrations.
A church spokesman said that traditionally Autumn is the time of year when Christains give thanks to God for the bounty of the harvest. "This year at Christ Church in Warwick, church members are also giving thanks for the talents God has given them," he said. "They'll celebrate these gifts in the first Harvest of Talents."
"We are very fortunate, in our congregation, to have alarge number of very creative and talented people - artists of many kinds," said Liz Parker, project co-ordinator and church secretary.
"We thought it might be interesting to share the fruits of these talents with others in the congregation and in the community"
Paintings, sculpture, needlework, woodwork and other pieces by artists in the congregation will be on display for two afternoons. Some of these artists are quite well known, like Proctor Martin, Ruth Vallis and Cathy Zuill. The work will not be for sale.
Also on exhibition will be a collection of the church's antique ceremonial silver.
The Harvest of Talents takes place this Saturday from 2 - 5 p.m. and tomorrow from 12.30 - 5 p.m..
