Students to sing for scholarships
Singing for their scholarships is what many teens and younger children in the Evangelical Church of Bermuda will be doing on Friday nights.
The Church said that for the first time, it will present a Christmas Street Festival outside the main library during late night shopping on Fridays.
In addition to music and performances by the church's choir, youngsters from the church will present puppet shows and fashion animals out of balloons for passers by.
"Several Bible characters will make appearances ... and there will be free cookies and apple cider for shoppers," a release from the organisers said.
The entertainment was the brainchild of the church's Olympian Club, a Bible-based programme by Word of Life Clubs for children in primary and middle school.
The church runs the programme on Friday nights and those that participate in the Christmas Street Festival will receive ministry credits toward the schoalrship programme offered in the club.
