St Paul AME to host concerts

The St Paul AME Annual Christmas concert promises to be one of the highlights of the holiday season with music from overseas talent from Morehouse and Spellman Colleges.Starting on Sunday at 6pm, the concert will feature St Paul’s senior choir, led by music director Cecil Smith.Special guests including Morehouse graduates Aaron Paige and Jarrett O’Neil will serve as tenors; while Arielle Bennet and Arielle Crosby, both from Spellman, will be rounding off the excitement with their soprano voices.All four guests will be joining the choir to perform traditional holiday songs and perform works from ‘Messiah’.Lanel Guyton, pastor of St Paul AME Church, described the event as “the highlight of the Christmas season”.He said: “This is our first concert in our newly renovated Sanctuary and we are excited.”The concert will also feature pianist and musician Raymond George, from the Bermuda School of Music. There will be young singers from the school as well as members of the church choir singing together.Centenarian Doris Corbin will be organising the event, taking over from former director Joseph Bowen.
