Underdogs Prospect eye another prized scalp
First Division Prospect United have been pitted against Premier Division high-flyers PHC in the FA Challenge Cup quarter-finals.Prospect dumped Boulevard out of the competition in the previous round and will have another chance to claim a prized scalp when they play Zebras at Police Field on Sunday, January 30.Coach Kentoine Jennings, who played in goal for Prospect against Blazers, said he was relishing to his side's clash against Kyle Lightbourne's PHC.“PHC are an exciting team and it should be an interesting game. They have a strong history in the competition,” said the former Hereford United professional. “I've seen them play once or twice this season and we will definitely have our hands full.“Football's a game of chances and hopefully we can get something out of the game as we're at home.”Jennings, who made his name at North Village as a no-nonsense defender, has not ruled out playing between the sticks again against Zebras.“I'm not sure where I'll be playing in that game,” he said. “It will depend on what the team needs. If I have to go in goal again I will, I'll just be looking to enjoy the game.”Dandy Town's reward for beating Village earlier this week will be a visit to Southampton Rangers, while defending champions Devonshire Cougars will take on Richard Todd's St. George's at the Rec. St. David's will face either Robin Hood or Wolves who meet in a second round replay next week.Hood president Paul Scope said his team would not be thinking too far ahead of themselves as beating Wolves would not be an easy task.“There's a long way to go before we can start thinking about the quarter-finals as beating Wolves will be no certainty,” he said. “But if we do get through then we will look forward to visiting St. David's. We were in close competition with them in the First Division last season and I'm sure they have improved since then, but I believe so have we.”n The Bermuda Football Association Competitions Committee have awarded Young Men's Social Club three points and three goals after Paget Lions refused to come out and play the second-half of their scheduled league match back in November.n Reggie Lambe's Ipswich Town reserves beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in a behind closed doors friendly at Playford Road on Tuesday.Colin Healy and Tamás Priskin netted the goals.Town fielded a mixture of youth and experience with the likes of Healy, Priskin and Luciano Civelli joined by Lambe, Conor Hourihane, Ronan Murray, Jack Ainsley and academy youngsters Joe Whight and Josh Meekings.Chris Kiwomya's second string's next scheduled Totesport.com Football Combination East Division match is on February 9 when they travel to face Oxford United.
