Jennings: Underdog tag suits us

Prospect United coach Kentoine Jennings says his team enjoy their underdog status ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final showdown with top-flight side PHC.Prospect breezed past Boulevard 3-0 in their FA Cup outing, but face a tougher task in Kyle Lightbourne’s Zebras who are currently second the Premier Division table.Jennings, who has had his fair share of upsets and champagne showers during his illustrious career, admits Prospect will be up against it but is looking forward to the Sunday’s challenge at Police Field.“The participation and work ethic is definitely there, we’re looking forward to the match and to test ourselves against Premier Division opposition,” said Jennings, who played in goal against Boulevard.“I don’t think they will underestimate us how Boulevard did, I think they are much smarter than that and I think the unknown factor came into play against Boulevard.“By the time they realised they were in a game we were already up a few goals and looking forward to the rest of the match.“We defended well and absorbed a lot of their pressure but being up 3-0 as early as we were took a lot of the pressure off of us and allowed us to enjoy that moment.“I told the players that when you play against players of this quality that are better than us you just have to go out there and enjoy the game, and remember that anything can happen on the day.“We will try and stick to what we want to do and hopefully something positive comes out of it.”Prospect have a Shield semi-final against Wolves on the horizon although Jennings is disappointed with the team’s league campaign. His team are currently ninth in the second tier.“I think the season has been a little disappointing, we have missed a few important players for various reasons and also having a few players come in that haven’t played in a while, so it has been a little hard on everyone,” he said.“With that being said, I’m pleased with the guys that have come out and given me their all throughout the season.”
