Union and Kings march into semis

Union 9 Apex 5Union coach Jomar Wilkinson hailed his team’s performance as they beat Apex last night at the National Sports Centre to book their place in the ISL semi-finals.They will now meet Arsenal tomorrow night to decide who advances to the final.Union scored five unanswered goals in the third quarter to break a 3-3 tie and put themselves into the semis.“It was a good game, we got off to a slow start but the result is what matters in the end,” said Wilkinson. “As the game wore on we started to pick it up and move the ball around a bit better and it was evident in the third quarter when we scored early and took control of the game.”Jason Lee, Marco Warren and Jahmel Swan all bagged braces, while Blenn Bean, Saki Tuzo and Ryan Nesbitt all scored a goal each. For Apex, Jahron Dickinson scored twice, while Jahleel Crockwell, Vernon Perinchief and Aaron Williams were also on target. Apex were ahead early in the game 2-0 before the Union came back and eventually won the match comfortably.Wilkinson added: “I’m pleased with the performance, we didn’t have a good start to the season but we know it only counts in the play offs.”Kings 7Titans 5Khamisi Lightbourne scored a hat-trick as Kings beat Titans in the ISL quarterfinals.Rui Furtado and Jahnai Raynor both scored braces in the win.Lonnie Bascome scored a hat-trick in the loss, while Anthony Rocker and Kyle Jones also scored for the Titans.Kings will take on Knights tomorrow night in the semis.
