Nusum confident of Wolves win
Wolves coach John Barry Nusum has backed his team to produce the goods tonight in their FA Cup first round match against Somerset Eagles tonight at Devonshire Rec. Downplaying the importance of the match, Nusum made it clear his First Division leaders would merely focusing on claiming another victory regardless of the competition.“One thing that we have established at the club this season is that we want to win every game,” said Nusum, a Bermuda international.“We believe in the team and the chemistry that we have built and each game we are still looking to get a result.“The FA cup is a big tournament but again we will be looking at it as a game we just want to win period. If we are able to take care of the game on Friday then hopefully our run will be a good one in the cup but we are just looking for a good result each time we take the pitch.”The match will be the first of eight matches on the docket for the weekend, and Nusum a former indoor soccer professional, knows the role the FA Cup plays in a team’s season.“Eagles are always a challenging game and truthfully we found a bit of luck in our previous fixture,” said Nusum, whose side beat Eagles 3-2 earlier this season.“This is both team’s opportunity to get a run together and build some morale in the process.“I know they will be hungry and our boys will be as well to get a result.”Knowing the community will be out in full force in support of his side, Nusum is confident his players won’t goal sight of their primary goal.“The buzz around Wolves sports club is amazing right now. For me it is great because Wolves is about a community and we are showing that positive things can come out of our young people.“We have fans that have come out of the woodwork and are supporting the team in everything right now.“For the players the key is to not allow the pressure of the moment to take over.“Fans will build that up but it is up to the players to make sure we get our game plan right for each match.”Tonight’s game kicks-off at 8pm.
