Terceira hoping to make comeback against Rangers

Robin Hood skipper Teddy Terceira admits his side will have to dig deep when they take on Southampton Rangers at BAA Field tonight in a rescheduled league game. Both teams played two days ago in the FA Cup, with Hood drawing 1-1 against Somerset Trojans while Rangers went down 4-2 to North Village. The game was due to be played two weeks ago, and again last Thursday, but bad weather put paid to any chance of getting the match played.Less than 72 hours later, the two sides have to put their weekend matches behind them and focus on three vital points for both clubs.Hood currently sit in sixth on 13 points, with Rangers three points and two places behind their opponents.“It’s not the best situation for us, obviously playing so close together isn’t ideal for either side, but we will deal with it and try to get a result at home,” said Terceira.“Rangers have a good side so we will have to be at our best in order to get a result.“The Somerset game was a good one, although we didn’t win we didn’t lose either, so the tie sets itself up to be very interesting in the replay.“We came up with them this year, and we are establishing a good rivalry, and there is all to play for in the second game against them.”The reverse fixture earlier in the season produced a 1-1 draw, a score that could well repeat itself tonight. While neither team has had time to regroup and prepare for the match, the result could come down to who has a bigger fuel tank to get through the 90 minutes. For Terceira, however, the game presents a bigger opportunity as he races against the clock to be fit and available for the match, having picked up an injury that has seen the influential captain miss a handful of games recently. He is hopeful to make a return, either starting or off the bench, and get his side over the latest hurdle in front of them.“I’ve been out for a little while with this injury I have but hopefully I can play some part in tonight’s match,” he said.“It may be coming off the bench or starting, depending on how the coach feels about the situation.”Kick off is set for 8pm.
