Derek deChabert's Premier predictions
Robin Hood v Dandy TownDandy Town can edge closer to the Premier Division title against an improving Robin Hood at BAA Field tomorrow night. And with PHC and North Village facing each other in upcoming weeks, Hornets can pull even further ahead of their rivals. However, Andrew Bascome’s side cannot be underestimated and have become a very tough side to beat, as Southampton Rangers discovered on Tuesday night. This one should be a tough encounter for Hornets, but Jomar Wilkinson’s team should have enough quality to pick up the win.Prediction: Town 2-0St David’s v Somerset TrojansA must-win match at Lords for relegation threatened St David’s with the window of opportunity closing in on them with each weekend that goes by.Although they have some catching up to do if they are to pull themselves out of their current plight, St David’s still have to play those around them but must pick up results to stand any chance.Conversely, Trojans sit comfortably in league table and will be confident of beating the East Enders.Prediction: Trojans 3-2Boulevard Blazers v Devonshire CougarsA repeat of last weekend’s FA Cup first round match, which saw Cougars claim a narrow victory.Again, Cougars should have enough class in their ranks to beat Blazers who look almost certain to drop down to the First Division. It will be a close game, however, but I expect Blazers to come up short against Cougars at BAA Field.Prediction: Cougars 3-2Southampton Rangers v PHCIt’s fair to say PHC Zebras need these points more than their neighbours, and given that Dandy Town play on Saturday night, it could be a chance for them to get back on level on points with the leaders.Rangers will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing defeat against Robin Hood in midweek, but could suffer from tired legs as the match, held at Southampton Oval, wears on.Prediction: PHC 3-1St George’s Colts v North VillageNorth Village remain in the title hunt but can’t afford anymore slip ups if they are to defend their title.A win would set up Shaun Goater’s team nicely as ahead of some season-defining games against PHC and Town.St George’s will be looking to return to winning ways following their FA Cup loss to PHC and strike a telling blow in their opponent’s season. With so much on the line, Village surely have the advantage to go and get the result.Prediction: Village 3-1
