Hood march into semi-finals

The second half saw more Hood pressure and they took the lead within two minutes of the restart with a quick break out of defence to release Victor Richards who slotted the ball past the oncoming BAA goalkeeper.

Jevon Roberts gave Hood a two-goal midway through the second half which they held onto despite a late surge by BAA.

Hood player-coach Derek Stapley and BAA coach Mike McGrath both praised referee, Wolde Maxwell, and his two assistants for the way in they officiated the match.

“They allowed the game to flow and let the occasional late tackle go unpunished by yellow cards, all of which enabled fans and players alike to enjoy a healthy and competitive cup tie,” Stapley.

Flanagan’s marched onto the Bistro Cup semi-finals with their 3-2 win over Vasco thanks to a double from Allan Kelly.

David Martin also found the net for the winners, while Rui Sebastiao bagged a brace for Vasco.

Tuff Dogs scored six unanswered goals to sweep aside Lobster Pot 7-2.

Pot went ahead through Henry Santucci, only to be pegged back by a Yuseff Pitt goal shortly after.

Santucci put his side back ahead before the floodgates opened for the league leaders.

Lamaul Crofton scored four goals in the second half, while Chris Pett and another goal from Pitt sealed the win.

Matthew Carvelho scored a brace as West End United beat 6-3.

Dwight Basden, Shawn Riley, Andre Outerbridge and Marquez Laws also scored, while Quinton Basden (2) and Tokia Russell were target for Lock N Key.
