Hood edge past Trojans in FA Cup
Robin Hood 2 Somerset Trojans 1
Robin Hood came back from a goal down to defeat Somerset Trojans in last night’s FA Cup second round replay at BAA Field.
Striker Johnathan Bean gave Trojans an early lead with a smart finish in the 14th minute.
Hood, however, found a equaliser in the 27th minute through youngster Dunte Albouy, and then added a second when Victor Blyden scored before the interval.
In the second half both teams had chances with midfield schemer Drewonde Bascome forcing a diving save from the Trojans goalkeeper, while substitute Malachi Jones put a header over the bar from close range for the visitors.
Hood, who drew with defending Premier Division champions North Village last weekend, will now face Devonshire Colts at Police Field in the FA Cup quarterfinals next Sunday.
The other quarterfinal ties will see Devonshire Cougars play North Village at Devonshire Rec. at 8pm next Friday.
The following day, Flanagan’s Onions take on Wolves at BAA Field at 9pm. In the remaining tie, Dandy Town tackle PHC at St John’s Field next Sunday.
