‘Chopper’ Harris special guest at footie quiz

Former Chelsea hardman Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris will visit Swizzle Inn in Bailey’s Bay tomorrow night as the special guest for their football quiz.

Harris, who made 655 appearances for the Blues, will assist the Inn’s Jay Correia with the quiz as well as talking about his colourful experiences during his playing days.

The 67-year-old, who won two FA Cup during his 19 years at Stamford Bridge, will also be a guest speaker at Robin Hood’s Night of Entertainment next Monday.

Correia, who is also a member of the Chelsea supporters club in Bermuda, said he was thrilled Harris would attending the event.

“I’m part of the Chelsea supporters club on the Island, so it’s great to have him coming down. He made contact with a few of the guys here that he was coming down so we will meet up with him and do a few things like the quiz,” said Harris.

“We have 19 teams already signed up, and have a few spots left, and we are expecting a great night to be had by all.

“He said he would love to come down and have a chat with us about Chelsea and the game so it should be a fun time.

“We have never done anything like this before and it’s great to see everyone coming to compete in the quiz.”

There is a $50 entry fee per team.

The night will be hosted by Mike Bishop.
