Wells’ team to face Wigan
Nahki Wells’ Bradford City have once again missed out on a big money Capital One Cup bonanza.Bradford had been hoping for a financial jackpot by drawing one of the Premier League big boys, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, who are still in the competitionInstead they will face Wigan, the club with the lowest crowds in the top flight, at the DW Stadium during the week beginning October 29.Wells was Bradford’s cup hero against Burton Albion in the third round in midweek, coming off the bench to score twice and force the tie into extra-time.The Bermudian has scored five goals already this season.Unlike many of their top flight counterparts, Bradford boss Phil Parkinson said Wigan, League Cup finalists in 2006, would be taking the competition seriously.“We’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose. We’re in the last 16 and take a lot of credit for getting that far and now we’ll be up against a Premier League team.“We will be massive underdogs. Wigan are a team who take this competition seriously and got to the final a couple of years ago I’ve seen the quotes from their chairman leading up to their win over West Ham.“But there is a lot of work to do before we get there and today we’re focusing once again on the league and the game against Port Vale on Saturday.”
