Nahki shooting for the Golden Boot

Strong start: Nahki Wells

Bradford City striker Nahki Wells has challenged himself to finish the season as leading goalscorer in English League Two.The Bermuda international, who took his tally to seven in 12 games at Dagenham last weekend, believes manager Phil Parkinson has assembled a squad capable of pushing for promotion and sees no reason why he cannot finish top of the goalscoring charts.“It's going well this season,” Wells said. “The gaffer has brought in some very good players in the summer and the squad is much stronger.“There's more competition for places and that's good because it keeps everyone on their toes. Nobody can afford to be complacent or they will be out of the side.“We want to be challenging for at least the play-offs, that is our goal. We know it won't be easy because there are plenty of other good sides in this division, but we have the quality in our side.“For me personally, I want to try and get that Golden Boot. If I can stay injury-free that would be great because I'm confident of scoring in every game. You have to have that mentality.”Wells came on as second half substitute in City's 3-2 penalty shoot-out win over Hartlepool in the Northern second round of the Johnstones Paint Trophy last night.
