Lambe’s Toronto in first win of the season

Bermuda’s Reggie Lambe helped Toronto to their first win of the season under new coach Ryan Nelson after defeating Sporting Kansas 2-1 at the Rogers Centre on Saturday.New signing Robert Earnshaw, formerly of West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, gave the hosts an early lead, capitalising on an errant back pass before dispatching a penalty.After the break Sporting Kansas’ designated player Claudio Bieler pulled one back but Toronto hung on for their first win in 15 league matches.Lambe, who has played the full 90 minutes in both of Nelsen’s games in charge, will be looking for build on his encouraging start to the season when Toronto travel to Montreal to take on their Canadian rivals this weekend.Former Blackburn Rovers defender Nelsen was appointed as Paul Mariner’s successor in January before the start of the 2013 MLS campaign.
