FA Cup semis set for Sunday

The FA Cup semi-finals will both now be played on Sunday at Goose Gosling Field, the Bermuda Football Association confirmed yesterday.The matches were originally scheduled for tonight and Saturday night but have been switched to Sunday at 2pm and 4pm, with current FA Cup holders Dandy Town meeting Somerset Trojans in the opening match and league champions Devonshire Cougars and Southampton Rangers playing in the second match for the second straight weekend.As a result of the rescheduled semi-finals, the final round of First Division matches have been brought forward from 3pm to 12.30 starts.Meanwhile the Masters KO Cup final between Somerset Extros and St George’s Stallions, originally scheduled for tonight, has been switched to Saturday at Bernard Park at 3pm.Both teams recently won their semi-final matches 1-0 at Bernard Park two weeks ago, Somerset edging North Village on a Rodney Bascome goal and St. George’s defeating Southampton Rangers through a first half strike from Lionel Cann who will miss the final as he is in Florida with the Bermuda cricket team.The PDL KO final scheduled for Saturday has been postponed and is tentatively scheduled for either next Wednesday or Sunday, April 7, the date for the season-ending FA Cup final.Weekend schedule:SaturdayMasters KO Cup final: Somerset Extros v St George’s Stallions (Bernard Park, 3pm)SundayFA Cup semi-finals at Goose Gosling Field: Dandy Town v Somerset Trojans 2pm; Devonshire Cougars v Southampton Rangers (4pm)
