Bermuda throw away two-goal lead
Bermuda women’s national team surrendered a two-goal lead against the Cayman Islands, drawing 2-2 in their second match of the Caribbean Cup in Turks & Caicos on Sunday.
Nequita Robinson’s side, who won their opening game 5-0 against the host nation last Friday, took the lead on 34 minutes through striker Shuntae Todd.
After the break, Bermuda extended their lead when Cheyra Bell, the captain, added a second on 54 minutes.
Cayman, who were coming off the heels of a 5-0 defeat by St Kitts and Nevis, scored against the run of play on 66 minutes before finding the equaliser 12 minutes later to secure a share of the spoils.
Bermuda take on St Kitts and Nevis in their third and final game tonight.
Bermuda must win the group or be one of the best two second-placed finishers to advance to the competition’s final round in Trinidad & Tobago.
