England Under-19 made a strong start to their Euro Elite Round qualifiers with a 3-0 victory over Norway at St George’s Park yesterday.
Three points were vital ahead of tomorrow’s second match against Spain, who beat Belarus by 5-0 in their opener on an adjacent pitch at the national football centre. Mason Mount got England up and running just after the half-hour mark. Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun fired an unstoppable left-footer into the top corner for the second early in the second half. The points were secured in the 55th minute when Sam Field smashed home.
Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott, of West Ham United, is part of England’s squad but was not involved yesterday.
