Rangers match postponed
The Premier Division match between Southampton Rangers and Dandy Town was forced to be postponed because of a lack of alternative venue yesterday.
The match was unable to be played at the Southampton Rangers Sports Club, as originally scheduled, after the Bermuda Police Service exercised a temporary closure of the premises after a disturbance the previous weekend.
The incident occurred last Sunday evening involving several individuals and resulting in the arrest of one man.
As a result the club was closed from 10pm on Saturday, until 10pm yesterday.
In response the Bermuda Football Association had hoped to help facilitate an alternative venue stating: “The BFA Competitions Committee and Southampton Rangers are exploring options that may enable the match to be played at another venue.
“We are hopeful that a solution can be found that will alleviate any scheduling challenges in the new year.”
However, it appears they were unsuccessful as the match was ultimately postponed.
