In the thick of the action
As we countdown to the 35th America's Cup The Royal Gazette will bring you one fun fact a day about the boats, the sailors, the crew, or the history of this illustrious competition. There are now 12 days until the month-long sporting spectacle gets under way.
The action will be coming thick and fast by the time June 12 rolls around. The final three races of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Challenger Play-offs final are due to take place on that day, should they be needed.
With competition expected to be tight, the first six races, on Saturday and Sunday, are unlikely to produce a winner.
Once the play-offs are out of the way, the next generation of young sailors, including our own TeamBDA, will take to the water for the first qualifying races of the Red Bull Youth America's Cup. The first three fleet races for group B will take place between 5pm and 7pm on the Great Sound.
Tickets for the events are still available, with entry in to the America's Cup Village available for as little as $10 for adults and $5 for children. Information on tickets can be found at americascup.com.
