Bermuda’s Zaire Simmons will continue her tennis development at Virginia State University where she will play for the Lady Trojans.Simmons, from Sandys, was the top-seeded female player at Sagemont School in Weston, Florida last season.She has also received recognition of outstanding effort and dedication for her girls’ varsity team for the past two years.Prior to her arrival in Florida, Simmons the sister of North Village footballer Tyrell Burgess attended Warwick Academy where she was the captain of six team sports (netball, badminton, basketball, softball, cross-country, and tennis).Also joining the Lady Trojans team are Whitney Harry from Queens, New York, Sharmane Tonkins of Newport News, Virginia and Schineatha Jones from Ricmond, Virginia.Lady Trojans finished last season with an overall record of 18-11, going 16-2 in conference play, and captured the CIAA Northern Division Championship.
