Deals offered to Spring Breakers
Bermudian college students are being encouraged to bring friends to the Island for Spring Break, offering iPads and money as rewards.Government yesterday announced that in February and March next year, hotel deals and special events are being organised to attract students looking for an escape from their university studies.As part of the efforts to attract spring breakers, Tourism Minister Wayne Furbert announced that the Ministry would be offering a free iPad 2 to any college or university student who brings ten overseas students to spend three nights at the Coco Reef Resort.Those who attract 15 fellow students will also earn $375, while those who bring 20 students will be given $500.Students who bring college or university friends who stay at other accommodations will be entered to win various prizes.“We have put together a very engaging programme to entice students and our close proximity and competitive pricing at Coco Reef will be a definite attraction,” Mr Furbert said.“We are calling on our Bermudian students overseas to encourage their friends to visit and show them first hand why our Island is an incredible place to relax and enjoy themselves.”The Ministry also announced that the resort will be offering special rates of $79.99 per night, based on double occupancy.Students will also be able to sign up for a Spring Break pass, allowing access to all spring break events, public transportation, drink discounts and free food at the daytime events.Numerous events have been announces, with a daytime and evening event listed for every day February 18 through 24, and March 3 through 17.
