With the arrival of the June sunshine yesterday, The Royal Gazette took to the streets of Hamilton to ask visitors for their first impressions of Bermuda.

Sergio Gonlance, from Columbia: “This is my first time being in Bermuda and it is paradise. We travelled here on the cruise ship and I really like it. The water is so clear, especially at Horseshoe Bay Beach.”

Antonio and Carolyn DePascale, and Emily and Christopher Wakefield, from Connecticut: “We are here for three days on a cruise and it is beautiful. It was easy to get on the bus even though it was a very long ride into Hamilton. We also ate at the Pickled Onion. It’s gorgeous here, it’s just weird that everyone is driving on the wrong side of the street though!”

Greg and Vicky Phillips, from Ohio: “Our first impressions are that Bermuda is absolutely wonderful, beautiful really: the people are friendly and it is evidently safe. We have been to the Caribbean and Hawaii and we’ve never seen water as clear and beautiful. However, everything here is quite expensive. We are looking forward to the food as we love fish, I’m sure there is plenty of it here. We’re still debating whether or not we’ll come back but we would recommend that everyone visit at least once.”

Doronte Evans, from Tennessee: “Bermuda is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. I work on one of the ships and we have been back and forth to Bermuda for about five weeks. My favourite thing to do is to come to Hamilton and eat. I love the food, especially at the Beluga Bar and the MarketPlace buffet. I haven’t been to the beaches because the ship was in the Caribbean for five months, and I’m all beached out but it’s absolutely beautiful here.”
