CADA to operate Christmas free lift home scheme

A charity against alcohol abuse is again offering a free lift home to make the roads safer over Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

CADA’s “Let Us Drive” programme will run from outside the LOM Building on the corner of Burnaby and Reid Street in Hamilton between at 12.15am and 12:45am, on December 9 to December 11.

The service, which can take home up to 24 people a night, also runs on December 16 to 18, December 30 and New Year’s Eve.

Since it began in May 2007, the programme has taken 19,886 people home safely.

CADA advised the public to remain vigilant on the roads and to always plan to get home safely before going out.
