Students told to use existing bus passes as shipping delay holds up new batch

Students have been advised to continue using their current public transport passes until the new batch of summer passes arrives on the island.

The Ministry of Transport warned of a delay in the distribution of summer passes because of a hold-up in the shipment to Bermuda.

The existing passes for 2021-22 will remain valid in the meantime and can be used by students on public buses and ferries.

A spokeswoman said: “Students are urged not to discard their current passes but to use them until summer passes are issued.”

The Department of Education, along with the ministry, will give notice once the summer passes are available.
