Repairs to The Glebe Road Bridge will require the closure of Palmetto Road in Pembroke through the weekend.
It was advertised last year that the Government sought a contractor to carry out restoration work.
The road below will be fully closed to accommodate scaffolding under the bridge from 7.30am on Saturday to 7.30pm on Sunday.
Palmetto Road will be reduced to a single lane next week from Monday through Friday, between 7am and 7pm.
Traffic will be managed by temporary lights and staff at the site.
Drivers were “strongly advised” to use alternative routes via Marsh Folly Road and Bishop Spencer Road, and to expect delays when travelling through the area.
