Consider the rise-and-shine approach

Morning routine: Dre Hinds is a personal trainer, aerobic and yoga instructor and fitness “addict” with more than 20 years’ experience

Hey, FitFam, welcome back to our weekly catchup. This week as I continue to encourage you to live a healthier, more active lifestyle, we'll dive deeper into the benefits of morning workouts.

I know, I know. You're not a morning person. Believe it or not, neither am I. However, over the past ten years I've reprogrammed my body to get up and get it done.

So let's dig deeper into these benefits and why you might consider completing your sessions in the morning.

Rise and Shine, fitfam!

Rise and shine, because morning workouts rev up your metabolism. By getting your body moving early, you ignite the calorie-burning engine, setting the tone for a day of increased energy expenditure.

It's like giving your metabolism a friendly nudge, saying, "Let's do this!"

With that nudge comes a burst of happy. Pardon? What's happy about waking up early?

Ever heard of the "happy hormones"? Well, morning workouts are a great way to release endorphins, those mood-boosting chemicals that leave you with a natural high. Hello!

Starting your day on this positive note not only lifts your spirits but also enhances your resilience against the day's challenges … those office debates or deadlines.

Establishing a morning workout routine helps you build consistency.

How often have you read about the importance of consistency?

Well, luckily for you, working out early mornings will become a non-negotiable part of your day, setting the stage for long-term fitness success.

Consistency is the key to unlocking your full potential and achieving sustainable results. Consistency comes with committing to early rising, before all of life's tasks try to interfere.

Now imagine this: you've completed your morning workout, mind clear, (fatigued yes, I know those squats really hit, inna?) but you're ready to tackle whatever comes your way because morning workouts have the magical ability to sharpen your focus and enhance productivity.

You’ll find yourself approaching tasks with new-found clarity and efficiency.

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, finding time for yourself can be a challenge.

Morning workouts become your personal sanctuary, a dedicated period where you prioritise self-care and invest in your physical and mental wellbeing. You can't pour from an empty cup, right?

Refill your cup every morning so that you can happily, energetically pour Into others.

There you have it guys! I know it may take adjusting, “losing sleep” to wake up earlier … but the benefits outweigh that temporary discomfort of change.

Bet ya boots, you’ll sleep better at night anyway due to all the early rising.

So let’s have it, fitfam! As we navigate 2024, trying to live a more active life maybe consider the rise and shine approach. We’re all busy with family, deadlines, commitments … but we all can benefit from rising to the occasion.

Get up and get it done. Lace up those sneakers, throw on your favourite workout outfit, and let's make morning workouts a habit that transforms your life.

Together, we’ll conquer each sunrise, one endorphin-fuelled step at a time. Your journey to a healthier, happier you begins with the empowering embrace of a morning workout routine. Are you ready to rise and shine? Let's crush it!

Happy Wednesday, FitFam, and as usual, remain unapologetic about your entire fitness and wellness journey, true to yourself and always be honest with your efforts.

Let's Rise and Shine all 2024!
