to live for Jesus.

And campers such as 11-year-old Deshae Sampson Smith attended the camp with hopes of meeting new friends and "learning more about the Lord''.

The theme of Winning Souls for Jesus Back to School Summer Camp was "It is better to tell the truth''.

Mrs. Minors said she chose the theme because she wants "the children to have a positive mindset before going back to school and she wants them to let truth be their guide''.

Every part of the camp -- for children aged five and older -- aims to keep Jesus and the importance of truth on the children's minds.

During the camp, the children had devotions, read Bible stories, and learned scripture verses.

And at each craft period the children created something that reminded them of the importance of telling the truth.

In addition to the religious activities, the children also had time to play sports, dance, and paint.

The young people also kept a journal in which they wrote their expectations for the day in the morning and their reflections on the day in the afternoon.

This is the third time that Mrs. Minors has held the camp. She also held a camp in 1995 and 1996.
