Concert celebrates Christian life at CedarBridge

CedarBridge Academy's second annual gospel concert will take place next Saturday.

The funds raised will help to send CedarBridge's Show Choir to New Jersey.

The Show Choir, which sings and dances to "Generation X'' songs, performed in a Music in the Parks Competition in Atlanta last year and brought home the winning trophy.

The concert is also celebrating the Christian life at CedarBridge.

Not only are the students affecting the public at large, they are having an impact on their non-Christian peers, said choir director John Woolridge.

Students who are not Christians have joined the choir simply because they like to sing, but have ended up giving their lives to the Lord.

"We meet spiritual and educational needs at the same time,'' Mr. Woolridge added. "The students have a sense of pride. Something they can say is their own.'' Mr. Woolridge is assisted by 12 "choir executives'' who help to keep everyone in line.

Choir executive Masante Maryam told The Royal Gazette : "We are like a family. We have fun. But we can settle down and do our work.'' The choir is also helping to take the focus off the bad things at CedarBridge Academy, Mr. Woolridge said.

By joining the choir students are staying out of trouble.
