CedarBridge Academy crowned its new King and Queen after a night of song and dance.

After a rigorous selection process in which the nine contestants answered questions and set out their hopes for the future, the school proclaimed David Bean and Charjan Palmer as Mr. and Miss CedarBridge.

After being crowned, David Bean said it had been the best experience in his life, and he enjoyed the fun he had preparing for the event.

He also said he would promote positive attitudes among students, teachers and staff.

Charjan Palmer announced that she would wear the crown of Miss CedarBridge Academy with dignity and pride.

Contestants were asked several questions about their future expectations, current events and their political opinion. It was a difficult decision for the judges to make.

They were judged on oral presentations, ability to answer questions and their personality.

The show began with the contestants coming repeating the contestant creed.

This was followed by a dance routine choreographed by teacher Josezine Wolffe.

Former student Ryan Bean sang to the audience before the winner was announced.

To earn the mighty crown a final question was asked: "If you were Premier of Bermuda, what changes would you make and why?'' While waiting for the announcement of the winners, the outgoing Mr. And Miss CedarBridge Academy, Jaloni Douglas and Daishanai Richardson were interviewed.

Then Men of Promise, two former CedarBridge Academy students, Ryan Bean and Jamion Simmons performed as the evening drew to a close.

The nine participants were; David Bean, Dwaynette Smith, Charjan Palmer, Keona Bennett, Aristia Waldron, Alissa Hayward, Kristen Vogt, John Faries and Marilyn Cupidore.

Taking the applause: Mr. and Miss CedarBridge Academy 2000/2001, Charjan Palmer and David Bean appear on stage after winning the contest.
