Lisa Brinco describes herself as a shy, easy-to-get-along-with fifth year student who loves children.
The 16-year-old was selected as Northlands' most outstanding junior and senior student.
Before attending Northlands, Lisa graduated with honours and merit from Dellwood Primary School.
During her spare time Lisa enjoys reading and drawing.
She also loves eating lasagne, and is a fan of the television show Lois and Clark, the Adventures of Superman.
Lisa feels that the crime wave is the biggest issue facing the Island.
She explains that discipline is the first step to solving the problem.
"Discipline starts at home,'' she stresses. "If children are disciplined by their parents, they will grow up to cause fewer problems.'' The Pembroke teenager says the one thing she wishes she could change about Bermuda is the number of parks it has.
"We need more parks, there's too many buildings,'' she says. "The Island would be even prettier than it is right now.'' Lisa states that she would advise other young Bermudians, like her younger brother and sister, "to remember that school is for learning''.
"They shouldn't worry about peer pressure or succumb to it,'' she adds.
"They should just worry about learning.'' Lisa acknowledges that her parents are her role models but admits that her cousin Gabriel Brinco has had the most influence on her.
"Although my mom helps me a lot you tend to follow those closest to your age,'' she says. "She's (Gabriel) helped me a lot and that's why I look up to her.'' Australia is the destination Lisa would like to visit if given a plane ticket anywhere in the world.
"I've always been interested in it and to be there first hand to see all their unique creatures in their natural environment would be great,'' she says.
Lisa's favourite sport is field hockey. Her favourite musical group is Take That and she enjoys maths most out of all of her classes.
