Students are being trained by Perry Scott and Kevin Hurtle who are also cricketers.

The youngsters say they do not mind playing cricket for five days a week. One student said he wants to get better and better so all his hard work is worth it.

"I think it's a good experience for them if they want to be professional cricketers,'' said Mr. Hurtle.

"It helped me when I was doing the same thing at their age.'' Some boys say even though they have their training, they prefer to have a cricketing role model. They chose Bermudians such as Dexter Smith and Dwayne Leverock.

The young boys are trained to do such things a pool shot, forward drive, and bowling.

These young cricket masters say they feel lucky because they have an advantage over the other boys who wish to play in Mini Cup Match.

Counsellors will pick the best of the boys to try out with the other boys from various other camps. Then the try-outs are held and approximately 11 members are picked for each team.

The counsellors and the students say they hope all these summer lessons will eventually get them to play on one of Bermuda's cricket teams or even one abroad.

Driving ambition: Lawrence Doughty practises his forward drive as Dal Colin, a professional cricketer, looks on. Mr. Colin gave some cricketing tips to the young cricketers at Bermuda Cricket Board of Control's summer camp.
