The Peer Counsellor programme has been set up for the first time this year at the suggestion of newly appointed Head Girl Megan Spurling.
The team of seven students will be on hand to help younger pupils with schoolwork or any other problems they may be having in the classroom.
Senior School Head Nigel Kermode said: "Megan suggested the idea and I thought it a good one as it blends nicely with the school's formal learning support system and adds another dimension to our goal of making Saltus a happy school.'' The seven new peer counsellors are Sarina Bean, Emma Holmes, Aisha James, Geoffrey Law, Lauren Pett, Denina Thomas and Kondwani Williams.
