Proud to be a Bermudian

Home. That is the word which comes to mind when I think of Bermuda. It has been my home in the past and it will continue to be my home throughout the future. Living in Bermuda I want to feel comfortable, I want to feel as though I belong and I want to play a part in our Bermudian society.

I wish the future of Bermuda to be a grand one. I want students from private schools to be able to ride that public bus filled with public school students and feel as though they belong. I want us as students to respect one another with no concern over colour or school. Although we may seem different, deep down we are the same. We are all Bermudians.

In Bermuda I would want to live in an environment where students and adults can communicate well. Where our younger generation are not looked upon as children but as young Bermudians who are the next generation. There must be equal respect between adults and the students or our society collapses.

I want to live in a Bermuda where tourists want to visit not just because of our beaches and ocean, but because of our people as well. I want our community to be recognised as an amiable society filled with adults and students alike who are willing to do their part to help our Island.

Lastly, I want to live in a Bermuda which is proud. Proud of the success we have made for ourselves and proud of who we are. I want to live in a Bermuda where every face shines with pride and is lit up by a smile because we as Bermudians have the rare chance to say `Bermuda is my home'.
