Using their individual artistic skills they are making a tile wall -- for the Aquarium's Discovery Room -- of children's art work, depicting their favourite animals.

About 200 students, between the ages of five and 15, have painted the tiles.

Each tile cost $20 and proceeds will go towards the Discovery Room equipment.

The Bermuda Zoological Society and some PTAs have sponsored a student from each school to paint a tile.

Spice Valley Middle School deputy principal Earl Hart visited the art classes and personally sponsored ten of the most gifted artists in that school to paint a tile.

Last week Saturday, the Aquarium held a tile painting day from noon to 4 p.m.

And tomorrow has also been set aside for this purpose.

Picture perfect: Saltus Grammar's Carl Soares proudly displays his work of art on a tile which will be part of the wall in the Aquarium's Discovery Room.

Hard at work: These youngsters give their full attention to painting tiles which will go on display as a part of a special wall in the Aquarium's Discovery Room. The tiles are expected to create a beautiful and lasting addition to the room. The children will be able to see their work for years to come. Some 200 students from across the Island are participating in the fund raising project.
