Top students survive `stringent' Saltus scrutiny
Saltus Senior School this week awarded 12 students the responsibility of leading the school throughout the academic year.
Senior Head Nigel Kermode made the selections after a "stringent application and interview process.'' The successful students were elected because of their leadership qualities and overall involvement in school activities.
The roles of head boy and head girl were awarded to Kavin Tucker and Fiona Herring with Stephen Troake and Danielle Skinner standing by as their respective deputies.
The four-student team will be assisted by senior prefects Emily D'Alessio, Shawnee Basden, Ben Beasley, Katherine Dunleavy, Graham Henderson, Jenna Judd, Trevor Leitch and Victoria Leite. All of the students were chosen from the Saltus Graduate Year -- a sixth-form programme designed to prepare young adults for university or career experiences.
In addition, Junior School Head Christine DeSilva recognised Stephen Husbands and Meagan Jones as head boy and head girl of the lower department.
Richard Hillen and Nancy Oliver were acknowledged as the deputies.
