The four boys and four girls aged ten and 11 years old from Harrington Sound Primary will live with different host families while attending the same school.

Although they have prepared for the big event by learning a few key Spanish phrases, Physical Education and Health teacher, and sole chaperone, Anne Marie Hines said they still had their work cut out for them.

"Some host families may speak no English, but they will learn a lot of Spanish really quickly,'' she predicted.

While in Mexico the children will give presentations about Bermudian history and culture and also meet for regular lessons with Ms Hines. And next month, a group of Mexican students will visit the Island as part of the International School to School Exchange Programme.
