Why Rosalind's mum is a real diamond
necklace for her mum, Jane, when she entered the Astwood Dickinson "Why my Mum deserves a diamond this Mothers Day'' essay contest.
Mrs. Leech thought she would be giving a talk when she was invited to the morning assembly, but instead she was presented with a Mothers Day present.
Below is a copy of Rosalind's winning essay.
*** My mom deserves diamonds because she makes me happy when I'm sad.
She buys me toys.
She makes my favourite food.
She cares for me.
She loves me.
She takes me to school.
She loves me from the moon and back again.
And she takes me to the playground.
She hugs me when I go to sleep.
When I am crying she loves me and cares for me.
And my sister as well.
She finds Colin, my cuddly blanket when I can't find him.
She can blow bubbles at me.
She is the famous mummy in the whole wide world.
Winning entry: Rosalind, with her classmates and winning essay.
