BHS pair experience Canada in exchange programme

On March 22, 2008 Georgé Wilson and LaShanda Seaman of The Bermuda High School for Girls travelled all the way to Toronto, to participate in the second half of a student exchange to the Canadian all girls school, Branksome Hall.

Branksome Hall is known to be a very good, all girls, private school in downtown Toronto.

While in Toronto, the girls lived with Amelia Rollinson and Taylor McKerlie, two girls who go to Branksome Hall. Georgé and LaShanda experienced the life of a Branksome girl. They participated in the daily classes and also participated in events outside of school like seeing the sights of Toronto.

"Their school is really nice, the classes are much more laid back and the teachers aren't as strict," stated LaShanda when asked about the school.

Like all schools in Bermuda the girls at Branksome Hall must wear a uniform. Georgé and LaShanda represented BHS and the Island well. They both wore their own school uniforms while at the school. "The girls are so nice! Some would just come up to me and say hello, or something like that. Everyone is really friendly towards one another," said Georgé.

BHS features exchanges to Branksome Hall every year, during the spring break period. Any students going to BHS that are interested in doing the exchange are recommended to do so by Georgé and LaShanda. "We made many long lasting friends and created some strong bonds with the girls," said a smiling Georgé.

Both girls were on the exchange for two weeks, returning back to the Island on the fifth of April. The two stated they had such a good time, they would do it again in a second.
