Come and join our reporting team
Do you enjoy writing? Are you interested in meeting new people? Are you keen to celebrate the positive elements of Bermuda's youth? Do you believe young people should have a voice? If you do, then becoming part of the Young Observer reporting team may be just what you're looking for.
Not only do student reporters gain skills in interviewing, note taking and writing, they also get to meet some of Bermuda's best, brightest and most interesting young people.
Articles published on the Young Observer page also meet the criteria for the course work portfolio component of the IGCSE English Language curriculum.
Workshops designed to introduce young people to the elements of feature writing will be held on August 28 and 31 at Crown House on Par la Ville Road at 9 a.m. All middle and high school students interested in learning more about journalism are invited to register for one of the workshops.
Teachers interested in learning strategies for guiding readers and writers to explore feature articles as part of the Literacy Collaborative will also find the workshops useful, and professional development hours can be earned.
Register for one of the workshops by telephoning Jennifer Hind at 278-0136 or e-mailing jhind@royalgazette.bm.
