Dancing, martial arts feature at Talent Show
Dellwood Middle School students held a talent show at their school recently.
On Thursday, January 21, 2010, the show So You Think You Have Talent? was performed in front of a large crowd. It was held in the Dellwood assembly hall where lots of students, teachers, and parents came out to support the performers.
There was a lot of great talent being shown by the students. There was hip-hop dancing, sword dancing, singing, drumming, and Tae Kwon Do, to name a few of the talents on display.
Kayla Virgil- Darrel, an M2 student who was present at the show, said: "There were many good talents shown by students, especially the dancers. I liked the boys who danced to the song 'Jerk' the best because they looked very good."
Students were very brave to go up on the stage and show what they are good at, because it couldn't have been easy performing in front of such a large audience. Devine Easton, an M2 student who performed Tae Kwon Do, said: "I felt nervous before I got on stage, then as soon as I stepped on, the nervousness went away, and then I felt perfectly fine."
"The performances were amazing because I didn't think they were so talented until the talent show," said Shondae Woods- Bell, an M2 student who was also present at the show.
The talents performed that night, like sword dancing, was never seen before by some students. Faheemah Scraders noted: "The Talent Show ended on a good note, and all the performers should be proud because they entertained us and showed us what they can do."
