My name dates back to Biblical times
My given name, Hasheem, originated in Africa and also in Arabia. The meaning of my name is 'destroyer of evil' and it was the name of the prophet Muhammad. My name has evolved since Biblical times. In this twenty-first century, my legendary name is still being used, mainly in the Middle East.
Spirituality was the reason the name Hasheem was chosen. My mother and grandmother are both God-fearing women, and they wanted a name that was in accordance to the spiritual phrase which defines my character. There are only a few masculine names that begin with the letter H, and Hasheem is definitely no ordinary name.
I object to my name Hasheem because it is very different from others. People have a hard time pronouncing it and it is personally not my favourite name. I also think that my friends think of my name as very comical.
I would prefer my name to be Leo because it is easier to pronounce and spell. It is a very cool name. Leo is also my birth sign and represents the King of the Jungle, the lion, an animal I love.
