School pride under the magnifying glass
We were two of the children chosen to represent Clearwater Middle School in the Masterworks Challenge.
We put our thoughts together in class to get the concept correct, and we sketched out pictures of activities that we do during our free time.
On Wednesday, April 14 we went along to the site of the former Waterloo House on Pitts Bay Road with Mrs. Leonardo, our Art teacher. Other Middle Schools arrived at the same time.
We got to work right away. On a large blank sheet of plywood, some of our team drew the Island of Bermuda and then we placed some of our activities inside the shape.
Then other painters diligently got to work. We added detail on the painting, such as texture in the ocean and more detail in the trees and grass.
We also "inserted" a magnifying glass to enlarge the shape of Clearwater Middle School at the Eastern End!
Overall, we believe we did an exemplary job, and at the end of the day we were very pleased with our final effort.
Here's hoping Clearwater wins a prize!
