The children at St. George’s Preparatory have been learning about Christmas traditions around the world this year. The recent Christmas presentation consisted of songs, dances and skits sharing this knowledge with the audience.The Primary2s were learning about Russian, Czechoslovakian and Polish traditions at Christmas, and as part of the presentation recreated the familiar nativity scene. The Primary 3s learnt about December festivals and traditions celebrated in Mexico and Israel and included a Mexican dance celebrating Christmas as part of their performance. T’naje Ray (in red) and A’ziah Askia educated the audience about Advent calendars and Christmas trees, traditions which originated from Germany. The Primary 6s learnt about traditions in Scandinavia St. Nicholas, the Danish gnome Nisse and the tradition of the Yule log.
