BI’s teachers and staff are unlike any other school’s

Bermuda Institute has been like a second home to me. Well, maybe even a first home, I mean I’m there more than I am at my house. The environment of the school is totally different from the other schools that I have attended. We at Bermuda Institute are a family, there are people that God has put there to be lifelong friends.I have best friends at Bermuda Institute that I will never forget: Tia, Tenneil, and Deidra are the closest and I’ve had plenty of friends there that have come and gone but will never leave me heart. My school has a staff like no other. The teachers and faculty are the most supportive and spiritual people that I have met. Some days I really feel like I have been burdened with school work and problems but there is always a teacher there that would cheer me up and help me to look towards my desired destination, Heaven.I have developed relationships with teachers that haven’t even taught me.Mrs Simmons, the Director of Development, sits in the office working as hard as could be.You would not think that she would have time for relationships with students. But the truth is that she makes time, I look at her as a mother because she takes such good care of me.The spirit of the teachers have driven me to want to be a success. The boldness of Dr Lois Tucker; the ever exuberant Mr Simons, my mentor; the drive of Mrs Hill-Smith; the love and joy of Mrs Hetsberger; and the humour of Mr Roach. The list goes on, these teachers and many more have helped me in my Bermuda Institute experience.I recently won Bermuda Outstanding Teen Awards 2013 in two categories: Spiritual Leadership Male and Most Improved Male.I could not have done it without God working in many wonderful ways.Bermuda Institute has made me into a success and I am ever grateful for it. I used to be a very quiet person, but by attending Bermuda Institute, I can’t seem to shut my mouth, the school helped me to find a voice.I stand at the door in the mornings to greet all of the students and teachers as they come in and by doing that I have gained confidence. This is my last year at Bermuda Institute, it is aggravating my heart that I am leaving because this school and the people here mean so much to me.As I am winding down to graduation I have realised that God put me at Bermuda Institute for a reason, for me to make a difference, and for him to make a difference in me.
