Thief steals wrestler’s bike

Bike stolen: John Layfield

Bike thieves last week chose a particularly high risk target a motorcycle belonging to former WWE Champion John Layfield.Mr Layfield, better known to wrestling fans as JBL and Bradshaw, reportedly parked his motorcycle at LF Wade International Airport. When he returned a week later, the vehicle was gone.Regarding the incident, he reportedly told TMZ Sports: “You can’t steal a wrestling god’s scooter, don’t you know?”The website criticised the Bermuda Police Service, writing: “You can’t count on cops in Bermuda at least if you’re wrestling legend JBL, who just got his motorised scooter stolen in the British overseas territory ... from right in front of a police station.”During his 13-year run in the WWE Mr Layfield won numerous championships and became the longest running WWE Champion of all time.Outside of the ring, Mr Layfield is a successful stock market investor, appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Bulls and Bears” and writing a book entitled “Make More Money Now.”Mr Layfield has rented a home on the Island for several years and is deeply involved in the group Beyond Sport, which intends to use rugby to tackle the issue of violence in the community.A police spokeswoman said: “It appears that between 7am on Tuesday, November 22, and 2.30pm on Monday, November 28, a motorcycle was taken from the LF Wade International Airport parking lot.“The motorcycle is described as a navy blue Symax HD125 bearing license plate BV936.”Anyone with information, or who may know the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle, is asked to contact PC Aaron Caesar on 295-0011.
