Island plays host to International Womens Forum
Bermuda will this weekend host an executive meeting of the International Womens Forum (IWF), its first as a full member of the global organisation.
Bermuda previously attended a forum last May in Rome and 15 women represented the Island in a second forum in October in Washington, DC.
The local chapter of the organisation has recently been formalised, with Premier Paula Cox as president, Caroline Foulger and Pamela Ferreira as vice presidents, Judith Hall-Bean as secretary and Vicki Coelho as treasurer. Kristi Grayson, Teresa Chatfield, Sheila Lines and Patricia Gordon-Pamplin round out the executive committee as members at large.
Delegates, including IWF President DeeDee Corrandini, are scheduled to arrive on the Island today, with meetings taking place on Friday and Saturday.
Shadow Transport Minister and One Bermuda Alliance MP Ms Gordon-Pamplin said: Bermuda is indeed privileged to be counted among the membership of this esteemed association and we are honoured to have the executive choose our Island for its executive meeting.
