Junk electronics, from cell phones to air conditioners, can be disposed of tomorrow at the Tynes Bay Facility on Palmetto Road, Devonshire.Equipment containing circuit boards, plus anything powered by an electrical cord or batteries, can be dropped off for recycling overseas, from 9am to 5pm.During 2011/12, Waste Management dealt with 134 shipping containers of recycling — 50 of which supplied local construction with crushed glass, with 84 going to the US recycling market.Overseas went 18 containers of air conditioners; 26 containers of vehicle batteries and 11 of motor oil; four containers of transformers; four containers of tin, and two of aluminium.Household batteries and fluorescent tubes filled one container each. E-waste accounted for 17 containers.
